Prices & Bargaining

Use these phrases when you are shopping and need to ask about prices or negotiate a better deal.

Key Phrases

You can start by asking, 'How much does this cost?' to get the seller's initial price.

If the price seems high, you might say, 'That seems a bit expensive for me.'

You can politely inquire about a discount by saying, 'Is there any discount you can offer?'

You could say, 'I like it, but I was hoping for a lower price.'

If the seller hesitates, you can ask, 'Could you reduce the price by ten percent?'

When you reach an agreement, confirm by saying, 'So the final price is ___ , correct?'

You could say, 'Let me think about it and I will let you know soon.'

To close the deal politely, you can say, 'Thank you, I will take it at that price.'
