위 칸에 자리가 있나요?

polite

wi kane jariga innayo?

Is there space in the overhead bin?

Direct question to crew; 위 칸 is the natural word for overhead compartment.

Requesting water from crew

물 한 잔 주실 수 있어요?

Could I get a glass of water?

The go-to phrasing for any drink request — swap 물 for 주스, 커피, etc.

Requesting a blanket from crew

담요 좀 주시겠어요?

polite

damnyo jom jusigeseoyo?

Could I have a blanket, please?

좀 softens the request without making it less polite.

Asking how to fasten seatbelt

안전벨트는 어떻게 매요?

Asking to swap seats · 2 ways to say it

Use with a fellow passenger; add 가족이랑 같이 앉으려고요 ('I'm trying to sit with family') to explain why.

Slightly more polite version — good when the other person looks senior.

Expressing discomfort / feeling unwell (general)

저 좀 불편한데요.

jeo jom bulpyeonhandeyo.

I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable.

-는데요 softens the statement and implies you'd like help — don't overexplain upfront.

Saying you feel nauseous

속이 좀 안 좋아요.

neutral

sogi jom an joayo.

My stomach's a bit off — I feel a bit nauseous.

속이 안 좋다 is the everyday expression for nausea or an upset stomach.

Asking for a sick bag

멀미 봉투 있어요?

Direct and clear — crew will understand immediately; no need to elaborate.

Asking about meal service
